“I think you do.” She said running her slender fingers through his short cut hair.

“Are you a fairy?” he chimed, changing the subject and she giggled loudly.

“Is that what you think I am?” she asked and he nodded.

“Not quite.” She muttered, breathing him in as she looked down at his chest.

“You’re—like chiseled perfectly.” She replied kissing his chest and he moaned.

“Scars are hardly perfection.” He interjected and she frowned.

Running a finger along his scar, she then dipped her head low and ran her tongue across it. She felt his dick jump and
she blushed. He couldn’t wait anymore. He needed to be plunged deep inside of her, making her scream for him. Flipping her over, he straddled her and kissed her neck before ripping her shirt open. Panting heavily, she quivered beneath him. Swallowing hard, she shut her eyes as he drank her in. Her breasts were perfect, perky and filling the bra she was wearing. Touching her stomach gently, he felt her shuddering. Furrowing a brow, he didn’t get the shift change. She went from caressing him to quivering in a matter of moments.

“Do you
wanna be on top?” he offered hoping that was the root of the problem,

Shaking her head no, she slowly opened her eyes. Dipping low again, he gripped both of her breast
s in his hands and she whimpered as her legs parted more.

“Your body is flawless Princess.” He said going to unbutton her pants and she sucked in a breath as she withered beneath him.

Stopping, he saw fear laced in her eyes. He knew it was too good to be true. She was more than likely afraid of him towering over her. Afraid he’d rip her apart and kill her.

I won’t hurt you.” He assured and she nibbled her bottom lip before nodding.

Kissing her stomach, he unbuttoned her pants then eased them down slowly—along with his kisses. He stopped just above her panties and peered up to her. She was gripping the sheets for dear life. It was apparent she was petrified.

“Do you want me to stop?” he asked releasing her.

Sighing, she answered softly. “No.”

“You’re afraid.” He snapped shamefully.

“I am.” She said truthfully, sitting up to face him.

“I know I’m a monster, but I wasn’t gonna hurt you.”

“You’re
not
a monster.” She protested making him look at her.

“You seem to think so. You call me a
heathen
every chance you get.” He snapped.

“I
thought
you were. But you proved me wrong more than once. I
do
want you.” She objected, caressing him.

“Then why are you acting
like I repulse you?” he barked.

“Because I’ve never done this before ok?!” she shouted defensively.

Swallowing hard, he stared at her in shock. In all the years that he lived, he’d never had a virgin. Ever. It was a rule he kept to himself. Being the monster that he was, he thought it wouldn’t be fair to lead a virgin on. It was bad enough that females grew feelings from sex, but to have a pure female believe he wanted her and only her would be more than cruel. So he stuck to experienced women the few times that he had lost himself to the lust. Being an incubus, he knew he wouldn’t ever love just one woman. It couldn’t be possible.

“Never?” he choked out.

He hoped she at least had one bad experience because he wanted her bad. But to his dismay, she shook her head.

“Then I can’t—”

“But I want you to. This may be my only shot at it.” She said truthfully.

“Only shot? Why me then? Why a demon?” he demanded.

Weaving her hands into his, she pulled him on top of her as she laid flat on the bed.

“I trust you. You’ve jeopardized a lot for me.” She said staring into his eyes and he felt a swell in his chest.

His heart hammered against his chest and no woman had ever done that to him. He didn’t know how to respond, but she made it easy for him.

“Make love to me. Please?” she pleaded still holding his hands in hers.

Looking at her, he wondered one thing. How could he say no? Especially after she put herself out there like that for him. Him of all people or—things.

Taking her mouth as his, he obliged. He couldn’t fight the urge
, even if he wanted to. Moving his hands down to her thighs, he caressed her gently and she moaned. He still felt her trembling, but now he knew it wasn’t because of him. She truly wanted him.

“I promise this’ll be something you’ll never forget.” He whispered into her ear as he ran his fingers up her thighs, and fumbled around her panties.

Closing her eyes, Athena tried to relax and was glad to have him in control. Shutting her mind up about how morally wrong this was wasn’t easy, but she was determined. Felling his fingers brush against the most intimate part of her was a rush all on its own. She clutched him tight as he kissed the top of her breast. She was wet and undeniably hot for him—unquestionably attracted to the pure brute that he obtained.

Leaning over her, he went to kiss her lips as he felt a white hot searing pain in his back. Sucking in a painful breath, he stiffened as Athena opened her eyes.
Seeing the pain etched on his face, her eyes darted behind him. Delilah was standing there with a crazed look in her eyes. Nails dug into Lucien’s back, she swiped downward. Lucien screamed so loud Athena froze beneath him. Blood poured from his mouth, and at that moment Athena knew Delilah had done serious damage. Delilah screeched furiously, trying to lunge for Athena but Lucien cradled her. Athena realized he meant to protect her as he threw Delilah back. Sucking in a breath, she felt his weight begin to crush her. Touching his back, she felt the blood oozing from not one but four ghastly wounds. Looking at her bloodied hand, she gasped.

“Lucien—” she
replied frantic as his eyes lolled in a daze.

“Protect…you.” He mumbled as he
limbs went limp and Delilah cackled.

Athena’s eyes darted back to her as
Delilah’s face grew darker. Colder—even more violent.

“My paralytic venom that’s coursing through him won’t allow him to “protect you”.” She smiled evilly.

“I don’t need protecting. Especially from
you
.” Attie sneered.

“He’s mine.” She snarled running for Athena.

“Not if I can help it!” Attie shouted throwing her hands up and outward, hurling a white ball of energy at her.

On impact Delilah flew clear across the room, slamming into Athena’s wardrobe shattering it into splinters. Trying with everything, she pushed Lucien, but his body weight wouldn’t allow her to move him.

“Stay.” He mumbled drowsily.

“You have to let me up.” She replied
. Delilah screeched as she slunk up the wall to the ceiling.

                                          Chapter Nine

The Clutch of Evil

Chucking another orb at Delilah,
Athena finally threw Lucien off. His body rolled to the side as she darted up, and manifested a crossbow. Delilah slithered above as she let off a few rounds. Catching her in the ribs, she screeched, shattering the bedroom windows. Athena aimed the crossbow at her for good measure and fired as the bedroom door opened causing her to miss. Spinning around, she saw Vulcan standing there with two other men ogling her. Before she could move, they rushed her. Grabbing her arms, they forced the weapon from her hands before pinning her to the wall by her wrist.

Damn it! Had she been on guard she would’ve killed them all.

Vulcan strode over to the bed and smirked at Lucien before looking at Athena. Pulling out a sharp blade, it glistened in the light. Grabbing a fistful of Lucien’s hair, he pressed the blade to his throat.

“I should end you right here.” He grumbled pushing harder and slicing his throat a bit.

Lucien clenched his teeth as the pain tore through him. Had he had function of his limbs, he would’ve torn him limb from limb. Instead, all he could do was stare him in his eyes and try and stay lucid.

“I could cut you from ear to ear.”

“Don’t!” Dezmon shouted irately stepping into the room.

“He deserves to die!” Vulcan
snapped defensively and Dezmon’s eyes flicked in a rage.

“I’ll kill you before you get the chance!” Attie shouted trying to
break free of the goons’ grip.

“In all due time.”
He smirked staring over to Athena.

Walking over to her, he ran his hand from her cheek, down to her chest.

“Get your filthy hands off of me!” she shouted still withering.

So lemme get this straight— I’m not good enough for you but my
brother
is?” he asked.

What are you talking about?” she ground out fuming.

“Hmm.”
He chuckled. “So Lucien hasn’t filled you in yet? Interesting.”

On that instant, Athena felt like she’d been kicked in her chest
. Thoughts of betrayal entered her mind. Had she really almost slept with the enemy’s brother?! No. He had to be lying. Regardless, Lucien shouldn’t have meant anything to her but a Charge. So why were tears welling up in her eyes?

Grabbing her face gently,
he wiped the tears dry from her eyes. Delilah dropped from the ceiling to the floor with haste. Slithering over to Lucien, she caressed his cheek gently obviously sorry for what she’d done to him. In the next instant, she was licking his wounds—literally. Athena wanted to kick herself. How could she have skipped over the teeny fact that Delilah was really his mate despite his denial of it?

Vulcan grabbed Delilah by the hair and snatched her backwards. She screeched as he looked her in the eyes irately before shoving her from the room.

“No need for tears. You’re better than him.” Dezmon smiled smugly, grabbing Athena’s attention before taking his shirt off and wrapping it around her.

“Wondering why he would keep such a thing from you? Maybe he doesn’t trust you just like I’m sure you haven’t told him you’re an angel.” He whispered in her ear and she gasped.

Signaling to the two guys holding her, they began to take her from the room.

“Let me go!” she
kicked and screamed.

Gathering what was left of him; Lucien sprang up from the bed and decked Vulcan in the mouth, sending him to the floor. Athena threw her weight on one of the guys, causing him to slam into the wall.
Getting free, she manifested a dagger and stabbed the other demon in the chest. Vulcan got to his feet and charged Lucien, knocking him to the floor. Lucien roared in agony as his raw back hit the floor. Athena stopped in her tracks and turned to see Vulcan pummeling Lucien into the floor.

“Attie run!” Lucien struggled to say before Vulcan hit him in the mouth causing him to spit out blood.

But she couldn’t bring herself to leave him.

“Enough!” Dezmon shouted making the room quake.

Everyone stopped, even Athena.

“Vulcan, escort our guest to the car.” He said with ease and Vulcan obliged.

Athena fought, but Vulcan eventually dragged her away as she cursed and struggled. Dezmon walked over to Lucien and knelt to him on the floor. Battered and bloody, Lucien still managed to look his brother in the eyes.

“Look at you—” Dezmon
tsked. “I remember one point in my life that I was in the same predicament.”

“But times change.”
He sighed as if he pitied Lucien.

One question.” He replied, but Lucien stayed quiet.

“Why’d you
take Hazel? Where’d you put her body?”

Lucien just sat quiet. There was no way he was answering those questions.

It’s fine, an eye for an eye.” He replied meaning Athena.

“Le
t. Attie. Go.” he stifled out.

“Don’t worry.” Dezmon whispered in his ear. “I’m gonna take good care of her. By the time you find me—she’s gonna be carrying my offspring.” He chuckled pushing him bac
k to the floor then leaving.

Reaching for the door, Lucien willed his body to move but to no avail. Instead, he saw a shadowy figure approach him before plummeting into oblivion.

** Lucien ran down the stairwell into the deep chambers that held the foulest prisoners of Hell. Dante had it made out of the carcasses of those who were insubordinate. The place was evil and twisted. Dark and blistering—smelling of death. The souls there screamed and wailed endlessly to be let out but to no avail. Descending deeper, he scurried pass a few inmates and stop at one cell—the last lowly cell to be exact. He heard scurrying and peered in trying to light it with the candle he was holding.
