Cash was such a good daddy. He was already a pro at changing diapers without getting peed on. He couldn’t get up to feed him since Gavin was still exclusively breastfed, but he did help with bathing and sometimes rocking him at night if he was having trouble falling asleep.

She could’ve stayed there watching them all day. Her boys must’ve sensed she was up because Gavin was making the little whiney noise he did when he was hungry and Cash turned to her with a smile on his face.

“Morning. Is my boy hungry?” she asked as Cash handed him over. She situated him and lay on her side, which was her favorite way to nurse him. As soon as her breast was free he latched on and began to eat.

“He’s a pig,” Cash said as he slid into bed so Gavin was in between them. They stared at their son, both of them happy and content. “Don’t forget we have to be at your brother’s house at three.”

She couldn’t believe her niece was thirteen. She was becoming an amazing young lady, for which Tessa gave a lot of credit to Shannon, Jonathon’s wife. Josie had struggled a lot after the stuff with Tessa and Jonathon’s dad went down. Even though at the time Jonathon and Shannon hardly spoke, Shannon was there for them. They had both been stubborn, and it took Shannon and their son, Henry almost dying for Jonathon to get his head out of his ass, and for Shannon to forgive him.

She pulled Gavin off her breast and sat up to burp him. She laughed when he burped and tooted at the same time. Cash sat up on the bed, cupping her chin in his hand. “I love you so much. Before you, I never thought I would find love, or that I deserved it. You’ve given me so much and made me see that I could have it all because I deserved to.” He kissed the top of Gavin’s head and then Tessa’s lips.

She couldn’t help the tears that leaked from her eyes. He was always telling her that kind of stuff, and it wrecked her every time. After the first time he told Tessa she saved him, she told him no, they saved each other.

Was their life perfect? No. But it was pretty damn great.

About the Author

A Midwesterner and self-proclaimed nerd, Evan has been an avid reader most of her life, but five years ago got bit by the writing bug, and it quickly became her addiction, passion and therapy.  When the voices in her head give it a rest, she can always be found with her e-reader in her hand.  Some of her favorites include, Shayla Black, Jaci Burton, Madeline Sheehan and Jamie Mcguire.  Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, so if you see her wearing her headphones you know she means business and is in the zone.

During the day Evan works for a large homecare agency and at night she’s superwoman.  She’s a wife to Jim and a mom to Ethan and Evan, a cook, a tutor, a friend and a writer.  How does she do it?  She’ll never tell.
