Chapter Eight

Deck left her in the morning, kissing her still-sleeping mouth, watching her eyelids flutter, her lips spread slightly into a smile.

“You will see,” he promised in a whisper. “You will see how much I love you. How I will always protect you.”

He went into his study and locked the door. It didn’t take long for him to find the information he needed and make the call. They’d slept late, and it was just past 10 when he rose. But he was done with his business by 11:30.

By then, she was up, too, and looking for him. He found her in the kitchen, wearing one of his shirts. The sight was so beautiful he had to sharply rein back his bear, or he would have taken her again, and marked her.

“Can I make you something?” he asked, surprising her from behind. She turned with a dreamy smile and laced her fingers behind his neck while his hands fell to her hips, pulling her close and kissing her gently.

“Mmmm,” she moaned as she pulled away. “You certainly make me something.”

“You should eat,” he said with a chuckle. “Have a seat.”

While he prepared a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and bacon, he tried to silence the persistent worry in the back of his mind. What if things didn’t go as planned?

Then they don’t go as planned, he told himself. And there’s nothing you can do about it.

“I hate to say it, because you look damn good in that shirt,” he said, after they’d done eating. “But you might want to get dressed at some point.”

“You know,” she said, blushing as she looked down. “The idea of changing my clothes on a daily basis is kind of new to me. Lots of things are. Some more than others…”

The shy smile she gave him was heartbreaking. If things didn’t go the way he hoped they would…if something went wrong…if she left…

He wouldn’t survive it this time.

No sooner had Corinne changed into one of the outfits that he had bought her than the doorbell rang. The sound made his heart stop, then start double time. He growled, deep and low. They had been sitting on the couch, Corrine reading a book from his extensive library with her legs draped across his lap while he flipped through channels restlessly. When he didn’t immediately get up to respond, she noticed and adjusted herself, sitting up.

“Want me to get it?” she asked, wondering if this was some sort of domestic test; how good is the homeless girl at regular human things like answering doors?

“No,” he said, and when he looked at her his eyes were odd, unreadable…intense. Her body reacted, stomach curling in a mix of fear and desire as her heart clenched. “But come with me.”

He held her hand, pulling her from the sofa and leading her to the doorway. Their hands fit together so perfectly. She couldn’t get over it. His hand was so much bigger than hers, but when the fingers laced just right…

This was what she was thinking when he threw the door opened and revealed their visitor.

Immediately, she felt like releasing her breakfast all over the floor.

Red-haired, fat and ruddy-cheeked, her asshole of a stepfather stood there in the door.

“Corinne,” he said, his voice so familiar – and so disgusting that Corinne automatically wrenched her hand away from Deck’s and laid them over her mouth to keep from screaming. “It’s time to come home.”

Chapter Nine

“You didn’t,” Corinne said, turning to Deck with her brown eyes full of tears, making his heart clench tight.

“I did,” he growled. “And you’re going to see why.”

He turned back to the man in the doorway, feeling more and more like he would be unable to control his bear if he had to spend much more time in his company. This was a man who had hurt his mate. His true mate. The red-headed brute stepped in and Deck let the door close behind him.

“Come on, Corinne. You know that you belong at home. Where your Mama and I can take care of you. I don’t know what you think happened between us, but…”

Deck’s eyes flashed as he watched the man’s arm extend, in slow-motion, towards Corinne’s thin wrist. He meant to take hold of her and drag her away. With a growl, Deck stepped between them, and then stepped forward, forcing the man back until he was pinned against the door.

“I didn’t call you here to take her,” Deck roared, smelling John’s fear increase sharply, his eyes going wide as Deck’s massive form and intense eyes threatened him. “I called you here to tell you that you’re going to leave her mother and her sisters. You’re going to leave and never return. You’re never going to touch her mother again. You’ll never touch her sisters. And you sure as shit aren’t ever, ever going to touch her.”

“Woah, buddy,” John said, shaking and holding his hands up before him. “Let’s calm down and…”

Deck roared – for real roared. He unleashed a hint of his inner bear; feeling his teeth sharpen and jaw widen as spit flew into the man’s face. His claws came out and he slashed at the wall right to the side of John’s quivering frame.

“Holy shit!” John screamed, covering his head with his hands and falling to a whimpering crouch in front of Deck, who forced his bear back and knelt down.

“Do. You. Understand?” Deck asked, reaching out and swatting John’s hands away until their eyes locked. “Leave. Never come back.”

“Yes, shit, holy crap, I get it, okay? Now let me go, please, just let me go!” John wailed, sounding like a frightened little boy. It was a sound that Corinne liked very, very much. Deck took a few steps back.

John trembled to his feet and threw one last, panicked look at Deck before racing out the door. Deck was breathing heavy; it had taken all his self-control not to rip into the man who’d hurt Corinne. When he felt her hand fall softly on his arm, he turned around quickly. She gasped at the intensity in his stare.

“Thank you,” she whispered, realizing that for the first time, she was really, truly safe. Undeniably safe. Her heart caved in and she felt all she had flowing towards the man in front of her. She would give him everything, anything. “Now.”

“Now?” he growled, but he was already pressing toward her. She let him push her back until she hit the arm of the sofa in the living room. “Corinne, I want you so much….”

“I need you, Deck. Now,” she repeated as his head lowered, nuzzling her neck. He pulled away and grabbed her face in two hands.

“Before I mate you, I need you to understand,” Deck said, his eyes boring into hers, making her breath come heavy and ragged. “That I will always protect you. From everything and anyone. Do you understand that?”

“Yes,” Corinne said, her nipples tightening as he growled possessively.

“Then you want it? You want me?” He stepped closer, his huge arms encircling her waist, his body hot as it pressed to hers. She did. She wanted him more than she could remember wanting anything in her entire life. And as she sighed, she surrendered.

“Yes, I want you, Deck,” she cooed, her legs parting as he pressed his hardness against her aching sex, already damp for him. He growled as he ripped the top of her pants, popping the button and tearing the zipper. She shimmied to help him lower them, her panties going along with them. Before she could blink, he had his own pants undone, his massive manhood stiff and swollen as it pressed against her slit. She smelled him and it made her stomach coil with desire.

“Please, please,” she whimpered, body sparking all over like fireworks, imagining his huge cock ripping her virgin pussy in two. But it didn’t matter; she needed him inside her like she needed air to breathe.

Deck brought one hand to her hips, circled them, lifted them. Her thighs parted more for him, the head of his cock now pressed against her slit.

Her scream pierced the air as he plunged forward into her, tearing into her virgin sex, breaking through her barrier in a single lunge, her pussy exploding in a single red ribbon of pain, his massive cock filling her to my limits and beyond.

The scream faded and the pain followed quickly as he held her against him, his cock inside her pulsing, her pussy raw from the sudden entrance but now accepting him with fervor. Need built inside her as he stayed, and fire licked at her limbs. He was still staring into her eyes, and as she panted he began to thrust into her, slowly at first but quickly gaining speed.

Each thrust drove him deeper and deeper into some sacred place inside her. Her hands came to his strong biceps, the muscles there hard and taut. As he pounded into her, each driving thrust drew a cry from her lips. She felt a balloon of pressure developing inside her, in her stomach, and each stroke built the pressure more and more.

He was stretching her pussy to its limits, filling her entirely, and it was the most intense pleasure she’d ever felt, so deep and raw that she thought she might be in a different world, a different universe. Her hands dropped to his waist, gripping his hips tightly, pulling him into her with each stroke. He was growling as he fucked her, the sound deep and primal, reverberating in her chest.

Suddenly, Deck broke eye contact and his head lowered, one hand ripping her shirt away. He growled to her exposed breasts as he took one into his mouth, licking and suckling at the nipple, rough, his teeth grazing against it as he drove himself into her again and again.

“Oh, fuck, yes, yes, fuck, please,” Corinne cried as the feeling flooded her and brought her to a new height of pleasure, that balloon of pressure inside her building and building as he savaged her, fucking her so quickly and so hard that she thought he might break her in two.

He lifted his head, slamming into her harder than ever, his eyes wild and untamed as the growl rose and rose until it became a deafening roar and he thrust into her once more, slamming into her as warm liquid burst inside her.

The feel of his hot cum hitting her pussy was all she could take, and finally that balloon burst. Corinne’s muscles tore into a million pieces as they released, ecstasy flooding her mind as her body radiated with a deep, buzzing warmth. She seemed to melt into his arms, each burst of warm cum massaging her pussy even as it milked more cum from Deck, her slit clenching and releasing with each pulse of him inside her, her entire self filled with him, and unbelievable pleasure. Her toes curled painfully as her back arched, letting the last waves of my orgasm wash over her.

Deck thrust once more, slightly, inside her, releasing the last of his seed, before collapsing on top of her. Her thighs shuddered around him, her breath heavy and labored.

Holy shit.

Holy shit.

Holy shit.

Chapter Ten

“Fuckin’ finally,” Chief said, glowering at Deck. It was the first meeting since the raid on the auction - since Corinne: since happiness.

“Is it that obvious?” Deck asked, biting his cheek to avoid smiling like a goon. He felt less aggressive around the other bears. Maybe knowing he had found his mate helped with that.

“I can smell her all over you,” Katu sneered, sniffing the air. Deck wasn’t surprised. He and Corinne had been all but attached at the privates since mating. She was insatiable, and he was happy to give her all she wanted and more. And, to his pleasant surprise, she’d been extremely receptive to the idea of a family. She was eager for it, in fact, saying that after all the time she’d spent on her own that some stability was the thing she really wanted.

She’d gotten in touch with her mother and sisters, too, and Deck had held her while she cried from happiness afterward. As Deck sat with his clan, Corinne was meeting hers for tea. John had made good on his promise to get gone. Deck would make sure he stayed gone.

“Told you it was worth it to force ‘em,” Bond grumbled, and now Deck did smile, wide as could fit on his cheeks.

“Didn’t have to force her,” he mused, shaking his head, still unable to believe it. “Came to all on her own.”

His brothers looked at him with surprise and respect. He could get used to being looked at like that. Though, really, there was only one person’s opinion that really mattered now. And she would be there waiting when he got home that day, and the next, and every day, for the rest of their lives.

What more could a bear want?

MFM MENAGE ROMANCE

Chapter One

“You WHAT?!”

The pain on his face was clear, but Julie had no room in her heart to sympathize. Not after what he’d just told her.

“Baby, it’s not as bad as it sounds, I promise! It’s not like they’re going to do anything to you!”

Julie’s chest heaved. He was not trying to talk his way out of this. Even the stupid-ass man she’d married as a stupid-ass teenager couldn’t be that stupid, could he?

“I’m not doing it,” she said, crossing her arms across her chest and setting her jaw. “Nu-uh. No way. This is your fucking mess, and I’m not going to do it. You can find some other way to pay off your debt. Shit, Jeff, you can’t just bet human beings! I’m not your property! I’m your goddamn wife! And not for fucking long, either!”

“Jules, please, you don’t understand,” Jeff said, his eyes watering as he pleaded with her. He was about to get on his knees. Julie’s eyes widened as he dropped down in front of her. His hands were clasped together like a child praying before bedtime. She’d seen him beg for forgiveness plenty of times in the three years they’d been married but she’d never seen him actually beg.

“What don’t I understand,” she asked coldly, feeling a growing sense of unease. “What are you not telling me, Jeff?”

“Jules…they’re gonna kill me,” he said, voice low, barely a whisper. His voice cracked. “These guys mean business. They’re gonna kill me, baby.”

“That’s not my problem,” Julie said, but could already feel her will starting to crack ever so slightly. Whether or not he was actually in a life-or-death situation, this certainly eclipsed all the other apologies and pleas for forgiveness he’d made over the years. Something in his eyes scared her.

She knew damn well that the Cold Heart MC wasn’t anything to mess with, either. Her own brother had learned that long ago, when through his own set of stupid decisions, he wound up without a hand. She felt no sympathy for him; he’d always been an asshole. Jeff was an asshole, but he was a
stupid
asshole which made her feel a little bit sorrier for the sad state he was in. And even if she hated him most of the time, there was still a little spark of love in her heart – and she didn’t want to see him minus any of his limbs.

“Jules,” he said, voice cracking again as – woah – a tear dripped down his cheek. Her no-good, dumb-ass husband was actually crying. “I need you to do this for me. Please.”

She took a deep inhale.

“IF I do this for you,” she said through gritted teeth. “IF I do it…you’re going to owe me big time. I’m talking big time, Jeff. I’m thinking of something that starts with a D. No fighting it, no arguing over who gets the damn house. No long, drawn-out court dates or lawyers. I get whatever I want, you can have what I let you have, and you don’t say a goddam thing about it. You got it?”

She could watch his pea-size brain working as he thought it over.

“And I’m not fucking anyone,” she said quickly, needing that to be immediately clear. “No screwing, no sucky sucky, no handjobs.”

“Of course,” Jeff said, still distracted by her earlier words. He seemed to sink in his own skin, falling backwards slightly onto his feet, still kneeling in front of her. ‘You really want a divorce from me, baby?”

Julie could have screamed in frustration.

No, Jeff, she thought, I want to stay married to an idiot who would bet his own wife to settle a debt, who’s firing blanks, and who pisses all his money down the drain on vodka, pot, and strippers.

“Are you kidding me?” She said, keeping the worst of her scathing thoughts to herself. “You really have to ask that question? Jeff, you bet me away. Me, a real, live, person with thoughts and feelings of my own. Your damn wife.”

“I guess you have a point,” Jeff sighed, shaking his head. “I don’t know how I got like this, Jules. I really don’t. You know, we were just so young when we got together…I just…oh, I don’t know. I just…I really got all caught up in this life I thought I wanted and…”

Julie tuned out the rest of her repentant husband’s drivel. She’d heard it all a thousand times before. Whenever he came home drunk and high with the smell of cheap cologne all over him, and glitter on his clothes and in his boots. Whenever he came home in a panic because he’d lost the week’s paycheck in a poker game. Whenever she threatened to leave him, which was about once a week, at a low estimate. The only reason she hadn’t done so already is that she knew how spiteful and difficult Jeff could be. She had no doubt that, should she divorce him, he’d make her life living hell throughout the whole process. But now, finally, she had him where she wanted him.

Unfortunately, that meant she was also going to have to spend one day a week at the Cold Hearts Headquarters doing God knew what. She thought they might try to get handsy, but if they did, all bets were off. She’d be bringing her mace with her. And, the more she thought about it, the more she thought she might bring her little Derringer, too. Never could be too careful.

It would be worth it, though, if it got this dead weight of a husband out of her life once and for all. Not for the first time, Julie Cavanaugh wished she had a time machine. She’d go back in time and slap the ever-loving crap out of her 18-year-old self for saying “I do” on that fateful day in March.
