“Are you sure?”
“My God, yes. I can’t take much more of this.”
She got off his lap and took him to her room, instantly melting into his embrace. Her lips and tongue kissed wet patterns across his smooth bare chest, lingering on the dark chocolate circles of his nipples. Each sensitive spot responded quickly to her touch and rose to tiny beaded peaks to meet the warmth of her lips.
“I love the glazed expression that reflects on your face when you touch me, Annie” he whispered against her ear. “It’s a sweet mixture of innocent exploration and carnal knowledge of a place you’ve visited on many occasions before.”
“And I love the way your body reacts,” she replied, using her thumbs to rub circles over his aroused nipples.
“Can I take off your sweatshirt?” he asked.
She nodded and lifted her arms. Casually, he dropped it onto the chair beside the bed. Then his eyes fixed themselves onto her breasts, firmly encased behind the fabric of a lacy bra. He pushed his face into the deep cleavage of her chest and inhaled the purity of her scent.
“God, your breasts are so full and beautiful. I could die quite happily resting right here.”
He took each breast between his lips, kissed them through the lace, and sucked until the fabric was saturated. When he finally removed her bra, he started the same manipulations all over again on her bare skin. Annie was delirious with lust and fumbled with the button and zipper of his jeans. Gently, he pulled away.
“Not so fast, babe. You first,” he said, dropping to his knees and kissing his way down the length of her stomach. His mouth was liquid fire on her skin, setting off tiny explosions with the connection each of his kisses made on her flesh.
He removed her jeans first but kept her panties in place, then ground his mouth against her aching sex through the satin fabric.
“Michael, if I don’t lay down soon, I’m going to fall over,” she panted.
He stood and gazed down at her, his eyes heavy with passion. One hand remained between her thighs. He toyed with the mounting wetness there; wanting more than anything to be inside her.
Annie freed his hips from the restraints of his pants, which fell to to his ankles in a heap and he stepped out of them. Then she removed her own panties. Like two magnets, their bodies crashed against one another. The friction of their skin alone was almost enough to push them each to orgasm.
She slipped beneath the fresh bed linens and he quickly rolled against her side. He studied her face, using his fingers to push the loose strands of hair that covered her brow. Love poured from his eyes.
“I can’t believe how nervous I am right now,” he whispered.
“Why?”
“Because it’s been so long since I’ve touched you, and I want this to be perfect.”
“If it makes you feel any better, I’m nervous too. But our bodies never had any trouble speaking to each other before. It was always…so good.”
He smiled and reached for her. She fit against him ever so perfectly, as if she were molded with his physical specifications in mind. “I love you so much, Annie, and I don’t believe I’ve ever wanted you as badly as I do right now.”
His tongue found hers and she pulled him on top of her. His hips fell neatly into the cradle between her thighs. The tip of his maleness pulsed against her soft, wet center.
“God, I love you,” she exhaled.
He froze when he heard what she said and stared down at her. “You finally said it.” Emotion made his eyes glisten.
“I’m sorry I made you wait so long to hear it,” she answered, easing him into position. “But I had to be sure of it before I said it out of convenience.”
“It’s okay, babe. It was worth the wait.”
Gently, he sunk himself into her, languidly experiencing the searing sensation against his flesh as her body stretched to accept him. “Annie?”
“Yes?”
“I’ve got to warn you, I won’t last long. This feels too good to be true.”
She smiled against his mouth.. “We’ve got all night, and I don’t remember you ever needing recovery time,” she giggled.
When dawn seeped in through the cracks of the window blinds, Annie and Michael were still awake and entwined beneath the sheets.
“Michael, where do we go from here? What does this all mean? We’ve already been married and divorced. What else is there?”
“Well, I don’t believe we can start over because that would be like saying everything we’ve been through didn’t really happen, and we both know it did. What I’d like to do is take what we once had and build on it, make it even stronger. And we can do that because we still love each other. That has to count for something, right?”
“Yes.”
“Lets take it one day at a time. Our foundation remains rock solid, Annie. Fate will take care of the rest of it because we belong together.”
“You make it sound so easy and simple.”
He tipped his head back and laughed. “Annie, I told you years ago, nothing good is ever easy
or
simple.”
She giggled against his chest.
“What’s so funny?” he asked.
“When I said good-bye to Taylor back in May, she predicted I was going to stumble upon my true soul mate this summer. Wait till she hears who I found.”
“We
are
soul mates. I knew that the day I met you.”
“You really think so?” she asked with innocence.
“Perfect sheet music,” he said, rolling on top of her again.
“I love you,” she sighed, as their bodies joined to become one.
