Scott leaned over and placed his lips right next to Derek's ear. He nipped at his earlobe then whispered in a husky voice. "I was checking you out too. You have got the best ass in the entire school." When Scott's lips sealed onto Derek's neck and he began to gently nibble and suck, Derek's erection stiffened to full mast and he almost veered the car off the road. Scott leaned back to his own side of the car, a look of satisfaction lighting up his face.

When they got to Derek's home, all he could think of was getting Scott up to the attic couch. To avoid arousing suspicion, he walked into the kitchen to greet his mother. The kitchen was empty, but there was a note on the table.
3:45.

Went grocery shopping and then going to the hair salon.

Dinner will be at six. I'll be home in a couple of hours. Mom.

Glancing at the clock, Derek saw that his mother had only left 15 minutes ago.
Yes! Good form, Mom!
Derek was almost bouncing when he turned to face Scott. "We have the house to ourselves."

Scott caught on immediately and took Derek by the hand, leading him down the hallway to his bedroom. They entered the room and Scott kicked the door shut and pushed him against it, locking their mouths together. The kiss was hungry, filled with the desire that had built up on the mat, in the shower, and on the drive home. Scott slid his hands up inside of Derek's shirt and ran them over the taut pectoral muscles, rolling the firm nipples between thumb and forefinger. Derek let out soft groans into Scott's mouth and reached around to grab his ass, pulling them even closer together. "Such a good kisser." Scott's words were muffled by Derek's mouth. He then pulled Derek's shirt over his head, trapping his hands above him against the door.

The thrill of losing control added to the frenzy of the moment and Derek allowed Scott to keep his hands bound above his head for another few seconds. He then freed his hands and threw his shirt across the room. Taking a tentative step towards the bed, he urged Scott backwards until the back of his knees hit the edge. Derek collapsed on top of him and they rolled and grasped at each other until Derek was lying on his back, his hands running up and down Scott's muscular body.

Grabbing Scott's shirt, he could only work it part way up his torso before he felt hot lips seal against his once again.

Somehow, Derek managed to squeak out a single phrase.

"Want your shirt off." Scott removed his shirt, tossing it to the floor with Derek's, then cradled Derek's head in his hands, resting his weight on his elbows and upper arms.

After minutes of passionate kissing, Scott pulled his head back. His lips were swollen and his eyes had a dreamlike quality in them. Reaching down between their bodies, Scott placed his hand on Derek's crotch, rubbing his straining member through the fabric of his jeans.

Derek pushed against Scott's hand, groans of pleasure escaping from deep within him. Grabbing Scott's ass, he pulled their hips together and they both ground their straining cocks against each other as their mouths met in a lustful, ravenous kiss. Derek lost sense of where his lips and tongue ended and Scott's began.

Scott undid Derek's belt buckle, popped the first button of his pants, and slid his hand underneath Derek's boxer briefs, wrapping his warm fingers around Derek's erection which was leaking with precome. The sensation almost caused Derek to come on the spot, but he took in a deep breath, trying to control himself and to allow the moment to last as long as possible. Scott reluctantly pulled his mouth away from Derek's long enough to place it next to his ear. "I want to feel your hands on my dick." He then lowered his lips to Derek's neck, having found the spot and technique to drive him into a frenzy.

Without any need for further prompting, Derek freed Scott's cock from the confines of his pants. With one hand he slowly stroked up and down the shaft, while he cupped Scott's balls with his other hand, giving them a gentle tug. Scott let out a heavy breath of hot air against Derek's neck.

Locking lips once again, they both struggled with shedding first their pants, then their boxer-briefs until they were both 140

lying next to one another, skin on skin, pressed together.

Scott continued to pull at Derek's cock with a steady and firm motion while Derek used both hands to pleasure Scott. They both started panting as their bodies writhed together on Derek's bed. "Oh, God, Derek, getting so close. You feel so good."

Hearing Scott losing control and knowing that he was the reason why threw Derek right over the edge. Sucking in a breath, his insides begin to quiver as an electric energy surged through his stomach and balls. "I'm...going...to..." and with an explosion, his orgasm burst, the first spray streaking onto his chest. The waves that followed racked Derek's body as his sperm flowed in gushes coating Scott's hand.

Scott's breathing became heavier. Derek could feel the precise moment that Scott lost control, his balls constricting and pulling up closer to his body. Derek jerked mercilessly at his shaft leaving Scott helpless to do anything but bury his head against Derek's shoulder, clamping down with his teeth on the firm muscle just as his shaft convulsed in Derek's hands. Jets of semen coated his chest, mixing with his own, and then seeped out of Scott's cock onto his hand. Derek closed his eyes, sated and utterly relaxed as he felt Scott's body shudder a few times and then collapse in a heap on top of him. They lay there for a few minutes, gently touching each other and not saying a word.

Once Derek regained enough energy to move, he wiped his hand on a clean patch of skin then took Scott's face in his hands, turning his head up so they were staring into each other's eyes. "That. Was. Incredible."

Scott smiled, still looking a bit disoriented. "Incredible." He leaned in and placed his lips over Derek's. The kiss was sweet and relaxed, communicating through touch and feel all of his affection.

During the days leading up to the challenge matches, Derek and Scott continued their after-school practices. Scott had learned how to evade Sean's takedown moves and had become familiar with many of Phil's defensive techniques.

With each day, Scott found himself increasingly amazed by Derek's skill, as well as his knowledge of the members of the team. It wasn't until mid-week that he finally asked the question that had been on his mind since they started practicing together. "Why aren't you captain?"

It wasn't the first time Derek had been asked the question.

When asked, he had always said that he didn't want to take on that responsibility and no one questioned his decision. Not seeing a point in lying to Scott, he decided to tell the real reason and see how it felt to share his actual reason for not trying for captain. "At the end of last season, the guys nominated me for captain. I turned it down. Josh wanted to spot more than anything, and if he didn't get it I knew that he would be impossible to lead. In fact, he would have probably destroyed the cohesiveness that we have spent so many years building. As much as it would have been nice to be captain, I knew it would be better for the team if Josh was."

Scott looked at Derek with a mixture of surprise and admiration. "So the guys wanted you to be their captain and 142

you turned it down because Josh was going to be a big cry-baby about it?"

Derek was astounded by Scott's bluntness, but it made him feel better. Although he never allowed himself to dwell on his decision, there was a small part of him that resented Josh.

"Pretty much. Yeah."

Scott shook his head. "You're something else."

"What do you mean?" Derek had come to terms with his decision a long time ago. Watching the different expressions cross Scott's face, he wondered if he should have just kept his mouth shut. The one thing that he knew would hurt him was if Scott was disappointed in him or saw him as weak.

Scott sat on the mat, facing Derek, and looked at him for a minute. "I have never met anyone who puts their own needs last as much as you do. I don't think I could have done what you did. I knew I wanted to be captain and I went for it.

There were other guys who wanted it too, but I didn't think about what
they
wanted. I thought about what
I
wanted. And I got it too." Scott looked at Derek again, causing a wave of heat to pass through him. "You're really amazing. You would have been a great captain."

Derek was stunned into silence, overcome with a mixture of relief that Scott approved of his choice and exhilaration at the intensity of his admiration. What shocked him was how bright and full he felt after hearing Scott's words. Just as quickly, old instincts kicked in and Derek pushed the feeling of pride away. Not wanting to be the center of attention or to be seen as conceited, Derek shifted the focus back to Scott.

"Yeah, but your family moved you around so much, and from 143

what you've told me, you have put their needs ahead of your own. You could have thrown a fit, but you didn't. I
know
I wouldn't have let my parents off the hook like that."

A thoughtful expression crossed Scott's face. "Why do you do that? Why can't you let me tell you how great you are without deflecting it back to me somehow?"

Derek thought about Scott's questions. The truth was, he wasn't really sure why he was treating the moment as if it were a casual exchange of compliments. He knew he would have made a better captain for the team and a small part of him thought about that every time he looked at Josh. Deep down Scott's comments validated every thought he had had about giving up being captain and there was nothing casual about what Scott had said or how his words had made him feel. So why
did
he downplay it? Why
couldn't
he allow Scott to compliment him?
Because I've always kept my guard up?

Because I don't like to be the center of attention? That
doesn't cut it where Scott is concerned. He's different.
Still, there was a part of him that couldn't let go of old habits. Not yet. Instead, he decided to meet Scott half way. "Well, I know I admire you. If you admire me too, then I guess you're right."

Scott scooted closer to Derek on the mat. "You know how I feel about you." His voice was soft, but there was no hint of humor when he spoke. "And one of these days I'm gonna put my foot down and insist that you allow me to tell you how fucking unbelievable you are without turning it back around into something about me."

Derek didn't admit to Scott how it made him soar knowing how Scott felt. He wasn't ready for that yet. But he wanted to be. Looking at Scott, seeing the way he looked at Derek with unguarded adoration, wrapped him in warmth and security.

Knowing that Scott wanted to spoil him, to make him happy, to make him feel good, was a tough idea to accept.

Examining the various thoughts rushing through his head, one emotion caught hold. Hope. More than anything, Derek hoped that he could get out of his own way and let Scott in completely, without any walls or protective barriers at all. But that wasn't going to be today. Wanting to lighten the moment, Derek leaned close to Scott, a mischievous grin on his face. "I can't wait to get you back to the attic."

Scott shook his head. "Don't think I can't see what you're doing. But I'll let you get away with it this time." Scott stood up and reached down to help Derek to his feet. The two headed out together and half an hour later they were racing each other up the attic stairs.

Pre-season practices began that Monday. Once the team was gathered in the wrestling room, Coach called for attention. "I wanted to gather the players who held varsity spots last year and any team members who wished to challenge for those spots this year before the regular season begins in a week. Although there can only be one person for each weight class, it takes all of us to push each other to be our best. Each week, we will hold challenges, so no one should assume that if they take a varsity weight class now 145

they are guaranteed the spot for the whole season. If one of you can't make a meet for some reason or gets injured, our team will only be as good as our challengers. If we are going to take division this year...and we
can
take division this year...we have to remember that we are a team that works together and not against each other. Are we in agreement with that?"

The team shouted "Yes, Coach!" in unison.

"Good." Coach's stance relaxed significantly. "I can't tell you how proud I am of this team. Many of you have been together since ninth grade, building what has turned into a class-A competitive team. This is your year boys. Practice for the next three days will be grueling. Josh is going to work you guys hard. If you need to puke, use the trashcan in the hallway, but haul your butts back in here afterwards.

Challenges will take place on Thursday and Friday. Thompson has made a schedule and it's posted on the bulletin board in the corner over there." With that, Coach turned practice over to Josh and got out his clipboard.

True to form, Josh worked the team hard, pushing them more intensely than the previous season. Each practice began with stretches, followed by sit-ups, pushups, and circuit training in the weight room. Josh had the team doing spins, sprawls, and sprinting in place every fifteen minutes. They reviewed basic moves for the first few days, and ended practices with scrimmage matches. The workouts were exhausting and Derek woke up each morning sorer than the day before.
