She scrambled to try and find it. Picking it up, she read the id of the caller, it said, 'Wife'.
She smiled, about to answer it, when it stopped ringing. "Dammit! Call again! Come on, call the number again." She waited, her mind forming a game to play if she phoned one more time, but it didn't ring again. She made a face, laid it in her lap and started her Jaguar - pulling out of the police station, she road along the busy street trying to spot Shawn, he was no where in sight. Giving up once more, she headed for home. Fifteen minutes later, his phone started vibrating again. She grinned, took a deep breath and clicked it on, "Hello." She answered in a breathless whisper.
There was a pause on the other end, and then, "Who is this?" Sylvia asked.
"Ooops, shoot..." She whispered close to the phone and then clicked it off, and burst into laughter. "Take that, Mrs. McPherson." Grinning she tossed the phone aside, smiling at the little seed she just planted. Five moments later, it rang again, this time, she clicked it on, saying nothing, she turned it off. Laughing out, "I love it, I love it, I love it! Hmmm, now, what must she be thinking?!"
"King Louie here, what can I do for you?"
"It's me, come and get me." Shawn said right away.
"A-a-ah shit, what the hell you done did now!? Where you at?"
Shawn told him.
"Man, you gettin' too old for this kin'o'shit! I'm on my way!"
When King Louie pulled up, Shawn stepped forward out of the drugstore doorway, and climbed into his Cadillac.
"What is goin' on wit'yo'ass now, tell me please?"
Shawn sat quiet a moment, staring out of the windshield, and realized he needed to tell him where to go, "I need you to take me to, Wherrington manor, I left the Hummer there."
"All right, all right, what your Hummer doing there? Why is you out on the street callin' me to get yo'ass when you need to be at home wit' yo'o'lady?"
Shawn sat shaking his head, feeling like crying, "I don't know what to do Louie, I don't know what to do."
"About what?"
"They - they want me to give up my daughter, man - oh man, I can't figure it out, I need to fix this Louie, I don't know how to fix it."
"You talkin' in riddles, tell me what the hell goin' on!" He ordered.
It took him a moment to get into it, but then he finally started explaining things, reminding King Louie about his previous visit to him about the shooting of Deidre and what it's lead up to now. "Ah'll man, that's messed up, I'on know dawg, that's a big one. A-a-ah shit..." Louie shook his head, "... she not gone even let you visit her?" He asked.
"Louie, I don't want to leave here without her - I can't go home without her, I can't."
"Man, I know what you feelin', but dude, you just may have to, you can't put everybody in danger man, and you can't be tearing off up into nobody's crib destroying shit! Yo' ass need to calm down, stop panicking, it's gone be all right man. At least she with her mama. What your ol'lady say, she know?"
Shawn shook his head.
"Call your ol'lady man!"
"What the fuck am I supposed to say to her Louie? She can't fix this! Right now, I'm too fuckin' mad to go home!"
"You ain't blamin' them now are you?"
"Of course not! Man, I just don't know what to say to her, I just don't know what to do!"
"You know what dawg, yo' ass need to learn how to accept thangs sometimes. You ain't the only man that's had to leave his child with her mama, you did it before and left her here, it's the same thing."
"No it's not! It's not the same! We had her! She was with me, with the family! I feel like - I feel ... " Shawn couldn't say it.
"A-a-ah come on man, I know what you thinkin', what you feelin'..."
"No you don't, you can't possibly know what's killing me inside!"
"Man I do! You torturin' yourself because, you being forced to choose between your own flesh and blood daughter - and your new family. Leavin' your daughter means, you've chosen them, over her. You feelin' like you betraying your own child. I get it man, I get it."
Shawn reached up gripping the hair at the top of his head, biting into his bottom lip as tears welled up in his eyes again, "FUCK!"
"Calm down man, we almost-..."
"Let me out!" He wiped at his face.
"Come on man, we almost there!" King Louie tried to reach him, but pulled over quickly because Shawn opened his car door. "Come on Moby'D, you can get through this man! Come on man!" He pleaded with him. Shawn jumped out of the car and started walking the rest of the way to the mansion.
Louie sat watching him walk away, getting further away in the distance. "Shit, Jesse man, you left this man and he need your ass for sho' now. Can't nobody get in his head like you." King Louie, pulled back into traffic. Not sure what to do himself. It was late. He wasn't sure if he should call his wife for him or not, but if he did, what was he gonna say to her? He wasn't sure if calling her would make things worse for him or not. He drove back to the pool hall, parked, went back into his little office at his desk, thinking. The guy that worked for him there poked his head in, "A lady call while you was gone, say her name, Sylvia, Shawn's wife."
King Louie nodded that he heard, he glanced at the clock on the wall. It was 11:30 at night. He picked up the phone and dialed the number to the condo.
It was answered immediately, "Hello?!" It was Sylvia, she was sitting by the phone, Mundo, Crystal and Ben around her.
"Hey, this King Louie."
"I just tried to call your pool hall, looking for Shawn, have you seen him?"
He could hear the worry and panic in the tremor of her voice. "Yeah, I seen him. He all right, for now - well - he not all right."
"What do you mean, what's going on?"
"There's some mess going on with his daughter, got him all torn up inside. He ain't handling it too well, truth is, I don't even know if I could handle it if it was me."
"What about Angela?! What?! Tell me?"
"It's got to do with the people that tried to shoot his ex a while back. Her mama scared they gone try to hurt her, so - she told Shawn she keepin' her here, some stuff like that, and it's got him going all crazy about it."
"Where is he now?"
"He going to get his car, uh, I probably shouldn't be tellin' you this, but he been to jail tonight too."
"WHAT?! For what?"
King Louie couldn't help himself, he chuckled a bit, "Oops, sorry, he uh, went up in these rich folks mansion tearing up stuff! Going crazy, they called the police, took him to jail, but it's okay, he out now."
Sylvia sat on the phone in stunned silence. Trying to be calm, trying to breathe, trying to keep her head about her. "All right, I better go." She said after a moment.
"Okay, if uh, you need me for anything, just ah, give me a ring, lemme give you my mobile."
She wrote it down and hung up. She sat with the kids around her asking questions about what was going on. She told them what King Louie told her. Taking several deep breaths, she picked up the phone and called Deidre's mobile, it was turned off. She calmly sat a moment more staring off into space and then tried calling her home, it took calling twice before someone answered besides the answering machine.
"Deidre Wherrington's home." It was Charlie.
"This is Sylvia McPherson, I need to speak with Deidre please." She was very calm, almost too calm her kids observed.
"It's kind of late, everyone is in bed, can you call back in the morning?"
"No."
Charlie stood holding the phone a moment, she knew what it was about, deciding to get Deidre up to deal with it, she replied, "Okay - hang on, I'll get her."
"Thank you." Sylvia patiently waited, it took 3 minutes until Deidre finally picked up the phone.
"Hi Sylvia."
There was no reply right away, but she heard her take a very deep breath, "You planning on taking Angela back Deidre?" She asked softly.
"I - I have no choice, Sylvia."
"How long have you known, that you would be taking her back?"
Deidre went quiet this time, nervous, stroking her temples, "I didn't want, to - ruin your vacation, your time here, by - telling you when you first arrived."
"You don't think, it's something we should have talked about Deidre, discussed, all of us?"
"Sylvia, God, this has not been easy for me okay? This is one of the hardest things I've had to do."
"And because of the way you've handled it, it's gonna get harder. My husband is out there somewhere, going nuts, because he - like you - doesn't have sense enough, to take a deep breath, and gather all the people involved, and discuss it. So now, he's out there somewhere, no doubt acting - like - a damn - fool - instead of bringing his ass home and talking to me about it."
"Shawn's not at home with you?" Deidre asked, worrying now as well.
"No he's not. He's not home, he's out there, tearing up people's home, going to jail-..."
"Whose home?"
"Emmm, I don't know, your parents home maybe? Does he know any other rich people that he hates with such a passion?"
"Oh noooo, oh Shawn!"
"Yeah, exactly. So, right now, I need to focus on where my husband is, what he's doing and if he's all right. As for you and I, in the morning, first thing, after I've found my husband, you and I, are going to do, what we should have done, in the first place, okay?"
"Sylvia, I don't want to go 'round and 'round this over and over again, I've done what I have to do."
"Wait a minute, this is not only about you, it's also about Angela, had you gone about this right, in the first place, there would be no need to endure, going 'round and 'round it again with me this time. And know this, you will have to - because it is the principle of the fact, that you entrusted that child to me - and out of common courtesy and care, you could have, should have consulted me once more as you did before, instead of snatching her back as you did! I can't talk to you about it anymore tonight, because I need to calm down. Goodnight, and I hope you can sleep well, as for me, my night is going to be hell, I thank you for that." She hung up.

Chicago...
Lying in bed, naked, arms and legs intertwined, Paul's face laying along side of hers, comparing his long fingers to her shorter ones, as she laughed at the stories he told her about him and his brothers and the adventures they had with their father.
"He sounds like he is something else, isn't he?"
"Oh yeah, my dad is something - I'm just glad he's finally settling down."
"And your brothers, I met Kevin - he was nice. What's your other brother like?"
Paul sighed, "Well - he's the oldest - an-n-nd he's a good guy too. A bit troubled sometimes, but he's got a heart of gold. Of the three of us, he's more of a fighter, a scrapper. I think that's just a thing with older brother's you know. He's also the best looking of us three - girls see him and man let me tell you-..."
She turned in his arms to look up at him, "I can't imagine anyone better looking than you, those gentle brown eyes." She caressed his soft skin, her thumb caressing over his cheek beneath his eye.
"I don't know, my brother's are tall, like my dad, I'm the runt of the litter."
She grinned and reached down to his groin, "Baby this ain't no runt, I can tell you that now."
Paul started laughing, "Careful down there now."
"Why? You ticklish or something?" She tickled high on his inner thigh and he dissolved into uncontrollable laughter, the more he laughed, the more she went after his sensitive spots that had him cracking up. "Please, OH! Two can play that game you know!" He warned turning the table on her. They ended up running through the house naked as could be, neither shy about the other. They ended up having a water fight in her kitchen, with her screaming out from the cold that he splashed on her, "Stop Paul - that waters co-o-old!" she squealed and took off into the bathroom to hide from him. He talked his way in, promising to behave. Slowly she opened the door, an impish grin on her face, there, they ended up in the shower and then back to bed again for some more love making. Both of them wet, with Paul on top, kissing all over her face, his hands caressing her body where they could, reveling in the feel of her hands stroking over his back, over his tight buttocks as she spread her thighs for him. Once more, so caught up in the moment, they forgot to use a condom again. Her head rolled back digging into the pillow, tossing and turning from side to side with the feel of him sinking deep within her body, "Oooooh god, shit, oh you feel so good boy, oh yeah... slow just like that, I wanna feel it, damn ... Ohhhh, I wanna feel it." Jackie panted, writhing beneath him as his body rolled above her, his hips moving between her thighs, making her bare her teeth when he penetrated too deep. He couldn't stop kissing her face, her lips, inserting his tongue, with one hand squeezing the firm flesh of her plump rump, while the other caressed and squeezed her breast. "Oh suck on it, sssss, yeah ... just like that - oh Paul, yeah - the other one too, yeah, like that." He did whatever she wanted him to, her wish was his command as long as he could keep doing this. The motion, the gyration was causing a sensation from friction that was leading him to a climax, "Jackie, I'm gonna-..." Before he could finish, she was already coming, shouting out her pleasure, begging him, "Come with me, oh come with me!" And he did, shooting a powerful jet stream of his essence deep within her, her strong tunnel sucking at him, gripping him, paralyzing him above her as his body shivered while filling her.
Moments later, they lay still in each other arms once more.
"Jackie, I know it's a sin, but - we have a year, before he's free, let-..."
"No Paul... no. Let's just have this, enjoy this, okay?" She looked up into his eyes, "Once you're gone, and you get started on your new life, else where, this is going to be, just a distant memory. Let's keep it nice, and sweet, and simple. Tomorrow you leave, close this book okay? Remember what you read, but put it away, okay?"
He nodded his head, but couldn't speak, instead he held her tighter, determined to get the most of this time they had.
