She bit her lips  to keep herself from crying as she heard the loud cr

of th
e vampires. She closed her eyes
and as she opened them

she only saw
the dust.

It was t
he end of the forbidden romance
and the end of the vampires.

“Le
t’s go home. We deserve to rest”
She said to her shocked friends
.

Epilogue

She couldn’t sleep. She had to do something.

After she said
goodbye
to her friends, she took all the vampire books she owned, even the new ones she has not read yet, t
ook them into the living room
and started up the fire place.

“This is the end”
she said to herself
.

When red flames started digesting
the
wood
,
Carrie stood up and began
putting
her books into it. She
was doing it mechanically, absently, 
and after she did it, she sat next to the fireplace and  listened to its crackling.

Then she remembered   the necklace she got from Jacob. She took it off and looked again at his photo. She really loved him but…

“This is the end” she repeated i
n a whisper. “Please forgive me
,
Jake…”

She threw the necklace into
the fireplace and watched how
his handsome face was digested by the fire. A
lonely
tear moved across her cheek
