ankle bondage

A woman bound this way may be able to have missionary-position intercourse. The man ties her ankles, then raises her legs, and climbs between them - either from above or below. His body weight thus pins her down and holds her legs apart. The vulnerability of her vagina to his penis in this position makes it popular with many male-dominant couples. If the woman’s hands are tied behind her back and a pillow placed under her buttocks, this can be a psychologically powerful position for male-dominant intercourse.

The ankles also can be tied apart and held there by eyebolts, a spreader bar, or something similar. Again, this provides excellent access.

One drawback (or is it?): a man whose legs have been tied apart often has a much harder time reaching orgasm than a man whose legs have been tied together.

Finally, the ankles can be pulled up toward the buttocks in the classic “hogtie” position (discussed later in this section).

Tying the knees.
Tying the knees in addition to the ankles makes the legs more secure and the bondage more complete. The knees can also be tied without tying the ankles.

knee tie, phases 1 & 2

The best place to apply the ropes is usually just below the kneecaps. Bondage applied at or above the kneecaps tends to fall to the area below the kneecaps until stopped by the widening calf muscles, often becoming very loose in the process. Placing the ropes there to begin with solves this problem.

One advantage to binding the knees is that a submissive whose knees, but not ankles, are bound is usually much more stable when standing. While still somewhat dangerous, this position is usually less risky than standing with bound ankles. Keep this in mind if you are going to tie their hands over their head in preparation for a whipping.

I love looking down at you and seeing rope everywhere.

A person whose knees are bound but whose ankles are free can often walk surprisingly well (but will have difficulty going up or down stairs).

Binding the knees is an excellent way of “shackling” the submissive. Cinch loops can be used to good effect here, especially if you finish with the knot at the front of the legs, where the submissive can see it.

One excellent form of knee bondage is to tie the submissive’s wrists to their knees. You may or may not also choose to tie their knees together. This can be a good position for spanking and/or anal play. Another advantage of wrist-to-knee bondage is that it is fairly immobilizing and yet probably still allows missionary-position intercourse. Indeed, it can even be applied while such intercourse is “in progress.”

Tying the elbows.
Tying someone’s elbows together behind their back greatly increases the inescapability of their bondage. They are obviously not going to reach this with their fingers, toes, or teeth, and it holds their wrists together in a way that makes most wrist bondage much more secure. As an extra benefit, elbow bondage makes the breasts and nipples stand out.

Alas, not many people can have their elbows tied together this way. Most of us can’t get our elbows anywhere near together behind our back even with someone pushing to help. Also, many find that bringing the elbows together pinches off the main artery and/or the nerves in their arms, thus immediately beginning to put their arms to sleep. Finally, even if their elbows do touch, and the position doesn’t put their arms to sleep, the pressure on the submissive’s shoulder joints frequently becomes very painful, usually after just a few minutes.

Bondage helps keep the game honest.

A submissive whose elbows are tied together behind their back usually cannot lie on their back at all (although some very slender, flexible submissives can).

In general, only slim, flexible submissives can tolerate significant elbow bondage. Rats.

Some people can tolerate partial elbow bondage by placing a rod between the elbows and binding them to that. Others run several loops of rope around both elbows and secure them with many cinch loops. The finished tie looks something like a double-headed hangman’s noose.

Shoulder pain in a bound submissive.
The human body was not designed to have its hands tied behind its back for long lengths of time. Many people, particularly if they are not both young and thin, develop pain in their shoulders - usually the front of their shoulders - if their hands are bound behind them for long. This pain may develop within minutes for some people. It’s often due to the unusual strain the position causes the muscles, ligaments, and tendons of the shoulder joint.

Bondage stretching exercise: it’s the tricep and anterior part of the deltoid muscle that are the source of most pain. The deltoid is stretched when the wrists are tied behind the back, and the tricep when the arms are stretched overhead. This pain may suddenly, briefly worsen when the submissive’s arms are moved suddenly when released. An extreme case can even strain the muscles.

You may be able to prevent or minimize this by trying to touch your elbows together behind your back and by bringing your elbows back as far as you can over your head. Remember to take your time about it. Avoid bouncing motions and fast movements into and out of the stretched position. Take it easy and avoid heroics. The shoulder joint is very prone to dislocation, so don’t go to extremes. Exercise books and yoga instruction can give you additional pointers on how to do stretching exercises.

Sadly, if shoulder pain does appear, little can be done to relieve it and yet keep the submissive tied in that position. About the only thing that can be done is to tie the hands in another position entirely, or to increase the distance between the wrists. This is hard to do using only rope, but people have been successful using rope in combination with rods or spreader bars. Handcuffs and leather cuffs also may be useful here.

Lark’s head bondage.
Besides being a good “anchor point” for other types of bondage, the lark’s head itself can be used very effectively.

One effective use is to apply the loop of the lark’s head around the two parts to be bound such as wrists, ankles, knees, elbows, and so forth. For this example, let’s say that you are tying the submissive’s ankles together, side-by-side. Make sure you position the top of the loop at the space between their ankles and draw the rope tight. Remember to leave about a finger-width of space between the ankles. Don’t press “flesh to flesh.” Now take one free end in each of your hands, split them apart, and run them in opposite directions between the submissive’s ankles and back to you, thus creating cinch loops. Check for the right amount of tightness, tie off, and you’re done. This is a very useful, versatile bondage procedure with many applications. I strongly suggest that you spend some time learning it; one good way is to practice tying your own knees together.

The restraint knot.
Asecond use of the lark’s head is also excellent. I call it the “restraint knot.” This knot is often used with wide gauze in the “real world” to restrain mental patients. It is most useful when you have a limb “out there alone,” such as when tying a submissive spread-eagle to a bed. The restraint knot is very secure, almost cannot jam, and generally does not tighten to any dangerous degree during use. If you’re into bondage at all, this knot is well worth your time to learn.

One hint: This knot works best when using slightly rough bondage material such as magician’s rope or cotton clothesline. Of course, you also can use actual gauze. I recommend using gauze that’s at least four inches wide. A brand of extra-thick gauze called Kerlix has been used for years to restrain mental patients. It’s a bit expensive, and you’ll probably need to go to a medical supply store to buy some, but it’s reusable.

restraint knot

To create this knot, first make a lark’s head knot that is big enough to hold in your fist with the midpoint of the rope on the little finger edge of your left hand. The free ends should be of about equal length, dangle straight down, and not cross. Open your fist and grasp one coil in each hand. You should now be holding one coil in each hand with your thumbs pointing away from you. Turn the coil in your right hand inward, so that your right thumb first points at your left hand and then at your abdomen. The palms ofboth of your hands now face to your right with the thumbs pointing in opposite directions.

Open your left fist and ease the fingers of your left hand under your right fist, then ease out your right fist so that both coils rest on your left palm, and you’re done. You use your free hand to adjust this loop to the desired tightness. (This knot is
much
simpler to tie than to describe. People pick up on how to do this with very little practice.) To try it out, slide the loop over one of your wrists, tighten it down, and hold the free ends in your other hand. Try pulling against the loop and you’ll see what it does.

This knot is particularly comfortable ifit’s tied with a double length of rope, thus placing an additional loop around the limb.

I’m really into being tied up.

Breast Bondage

Breast bondage- in this book we’ll refer to binding the female breasts - is fun to fantasize about but difficult to do. The breasts, unlike the wrists or ankles, have little “flare” at the end, so ropes often slip off. Still, many bondage fans feel it’s worth a try.

Most breast bondage involves encircling each breast where it joins the chest wall. Large breasts are
much
easier to bind than small breasts. You might start by winding a six-foot length of rope fairly tightly around the breast at its base. Having the woman bend forward at this point may help. Capture as much tissue as possible “beyond” the ropes, tie off, and see how that feels. Is it secure? Does it feel good?

You might supplement this with another six-foot length. Place its midpoint at the back of her neck, then bring each free end down onto her chest. Loop one end under each breast a few times - preferably in the in-to-out direction - then bring the rope back up and tie it behind her neck, thus creating a “bondage bra.”
