“Leave the dishes,” he said before she began to rinse them off.

“Why?”

He grabbed her hand, leading her into the living room, sitting her on the couch.

“Hold this for me a second, if you don’t mind,” he said, passing the guitar to her.

Rowan quickly started a fire, dimmed the lights, and found his place next to Madison on the couch.  He took the guitar from her hands and began to play.  The feel of the strings beneath his fingertips reminded him quickly why he loved playing.  As a child he had begged his parents for a guitar.  Of course, when they took him to the music store, he’d picked out possibly the most expensive one in the store; the Gibson Hummingbird.  His father immediately shot him down, opting for a less expensive knock off acoustic.  He’d taken lessons and every Friday while he waited for his mother to pick him up, he eyed the Hummingbird, dreaming of the day when he’d own it.

“That’s beautiful, Rowan.  Did you write that?”  Madison’s voice pulled him from his memories.

“A long time ago.”

“How long have you been playing?”  She asked.

“Since I was ten, right before I met Cade.”  Rowan shook his head, “You know, I begged my father for this guitar, but he would never budge.  He said it was too much money to spend on a kid who would never play it.”

“How long have you had it?”

“Quite some time.”

He glanced over at her and his heart swelled.  In that moment, he wished for more than anything in the world that his mother were here to meet Madison.  He leaned in, kissing her gently on the lips.  Madison reached up, stroking his cheek.  He pulled back and eyed the guitar.

“The day my mom was diagnosed with cancer, she went out and bought this guitar for me.  She said she wanted to hear me play it while she could.  I’d been so excited about the damn thing, the implication of the gift didn’t hit me until days later.”

When a tear slid down Rowan’s cheek, Madison took the guitar and gently placed it on the floor next to the couch.  Straddling his lap, she placed kisses along the path the tear had taken.  She wanted to take away the hurt in his heart that was so evident in the raw emotion he was now showing.  Her own heart ached seeing how affected he was by his mother’s death.

“She sounds like a remarkable woman; I wish I could have met her.”

“She was remarkable,” he responded with a shaky voice.

“Rowan, even though she died when you were young, it’s because of her you are the man you are today.  She would be proud of you.”

“And she would love you for the man that you bring out in me.”

Rowan placed his hands under Madison’s bottom as she draped her arms around his neck.  As he stood, she wrapped her legs around his waist.  He moved them to in front of the fireplace and set her on the rug spread out before the fire.  He slowly leaned in, kissing her lips, along her jaw line to her ear.  “You make me the happiest man alive, Madison James.”

She couldn’t say a word; the moment didn’t call for it and she knew words weren’t what he needed right now.  Rowan placed his lips to hers again as he pulled her shirt from the waistband of her slacks.  As his kisses grew deeper, his breath more ragged, his fingers skimmed her belly up to her breast.  He pulled her bra to the side, pinching the already hardened nipple between his finger and thumb.

“I need you, Madison, right here, right now.”

With only a look of acceptance in her eyes, Rowan knew she would willingly give him what he needed.  He quickly stripped as she undressed.  He felt desperate to be deep inside her, to feel that connection they shared.  Hovering over her, he bunched his fingers in her hair, pulling her mouth to his.  His fingers skimmed from her throat between her breasts to her waiting pussy.  Without hesitation, he positioned himself between Madison’s thighs and plunged his cock deep into her wet hot core.  His thumb circled her swollen clit as he rocked his hips, burying himself deeper than he’d ever done before.

Madison felt her orgasm approaching quickly.  His rock hard cock pounding her pussy and the quick movements on her clit bringing her to an orgasm faster than she’d ever experienced.  Planting her feet flat on the floor, lifting her hips and arching her back she let out a scream that would shame a banshee.  Her orgasm consumed her; fast, hard and overwhelming, like nothing before.

Rowan pressed his palms on the rug beneath them on either side of Madison’s head and continued to plunge deep within her hot core as her pussy clenched his cock.  He closed his eyes, rocked his hips harder, faster, and let his orgasm engulf him.  When he’d spilled the last of himself, he rolled off Madison pulling her so  that they lay on their sides facing each other.

“You never cease to amaze me,” he said trying to catch his breath, placing butterfly kisses on her cheek.

“I love you, Rowan.”

Six months later, Madison and Rowan gazed at each other standing at the altar of the small church that was packed with friends and family.  Neither of them heard the preacher declare Cade and Tessa husband and wife just before they walked down the aisle hand in hand.  The preacher cleared his throat giving a gentle reminder to the best man and maid of honor that they needed to follow quickly behind them.  Madison placed her arm into Rowan’s; him placing a hand on hers.

“The next time we do this, it will be you and I taking this trip as husband and wife,” he said with a wink.
